I’m Kat (Katrina on a Sunday!), and I live in North East Scotland with my husband, 2 bengal girls (Fergie and Jessie) and our 3 working spaniel gun dogs, Bubba, Hamish and Maggie.

I enjoy being outdoors, (which comes with the territory of owning 3 working dogs!), I love to get lost in nature, and I love to be at the beach, its my safe place.

Living with Chronic Pain is something i never thought id have to go through. Its changed my world.

I had my first discectomy back in 2011, which was classed as failed 5 weeks after. I have had all the spinal injections available, all of which failed too! In 2014, i underwent my 2nd discectomy and also had a facet joint removed.

Since then I have been diagnosed with:-

  • Failed Back Syndrome
  • Degenerative Disc Disease
  • Facet Joint Hypertrophy
  • Enlarged Facet Joints
  • Facet Joint Arthritis
  • Lumbar Spinal Stenosis
  • Hip Bursitis
  • SI joint arthritis

Everything is a learning curve, some days are not easy, and others are slightly better, but I hope to share my story, my every day life and to connect with others going through the same issues – remember you are NOT alone!

Wanna hear what ive got to say – give me a follow!

  1. I’ve been following the mighty page for a few years now, but have only just come across your posts, I too also have degenerative disc disease and hip bursitis as well as fibromyalgia and fractures to my facet joints! I am in to my 8th year of dealing with chronic pain and although I have gotten better at coping, most days are hard. I’m a 32 year old married mother of two young kids, my daughter who turns 9 this year has never known me to not be in pain, and that is one of the hardest parts to deal with.

Anyway sorry for waffling I just wanted to say hi and thank you for sharing your journey with us and putting this horrid condition out there.
    Gentle hugs
    Clare x
